Straight Up Smut

Here you will find all sorts of smutty, dirty book reviews. All sorts of themes, genders, species, relationships, sexualities….. have fun!

Dark Flame Series by Kat Silver

Dark Flame (Flame Born, #1)Dark Flame by Kat Silver
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All I want to say is this first book of the Flame Born, is the perfect amount of spicy romance I needed in my life. Besides all the wonderful “sexual” scenes, there’s actually a pretty engaging storyline centered around Michael and his background. I honestly can’t wait for the second book to come out!

P.S. Only read if you’re 18+ because of mature scenes!

Dark Fate (Flame Born #2)Dark Fate by Kat Silver
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Words cannot describe how sexy, intriguing, and engaging this book was. I thought that I was in love with the first book…. Well, this one was incredibly better and I’m embarrassed to say that I may have read it twice before it was officially published (seriously, I was hooked from the last book!). Dark Fate isn’t just a sexy novel with fantasy/ modern themes… it actually has a really interesting storyline and it warms my heart reading about how Michael’s and Flannagan’s (Gabriel) relationship continues to grow and morph into something beyond words. I can’t wait until the third book!

Monstrous Series by Lily Mayne

Soul Eater (Monstrous, #1)Soul Eater by Lily Mayne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the first book by Lily Mayne that I’ve read, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed the overall storyline and the variety of characters. It was lovely to see character growth between Danny (Daniel) and Wyn (Soul Eater) as they slowly discovered their relationship through the different situations they found themselves in. Now, I really did enjoy the book. There are many aspects that were really great and I finished the whole story within a day. The reason why I didn’t give it more stars is sole because I wished there was more world-building. The beginning was quite strong, but the moment our two characters left the military base, the world-building descriptions seemed to drop. Considering that they traveled through the USA, there were plenty of moments for a paragraph or two of descriptions of what their surroundings might have looked like. Either way, I’m totally looking forward to the next book!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Rycke by Lily Mayne is the third book in the Monstrous series where men fall in love with literal monsters. Now, I’ve been loving the series so far, but I think the second book was better than this one. I loved the chemistry between Ghost and the Rycke, and it was so lovely to see the main character that suffered with high anxiety and a raider at that! We get introduced to a whole new set of characters compared to the first two books. It was a fun read filled with intimate moments, military, danger, background stories, mental illnesses, and more! Such a great short read!

Edin (Monstrous, #2)Edin by Lily Mayne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Edin is the second book from the Monstrous by Lily Mayne. I had just recently discovered this author, and so far I’m liking her writing. Compared to the first book, I enjoyed the continued world-building. The author did bring back the main characters from the first book (Wyn and Danny), so it was lovely to see. One thing I wished was that there was a bit more action in this novel. Compared to the previous book, it seemed to be lacking. Considering Hunter is supposed to be a more roughed-up, hard-core type of guy, I went in assuming that his story would have more action to replicate that. Though, it was still entertaining to read about his and Edin’s relationship. Looking forward to the next novel.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gloam by Lily Mayne was such a pleasure to read. Can I just say, Rig, also known as Adam, was utterly hilarious sometimes throughout the book. Even from the beginning, he’s already pinning after his monster’s ass that had me laughing with his awkward charm. Stakes were higher in this book I found, and there were darker themes as danger became quite real between the two. Thanks for the amazing read once again!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seraph by Lily Mayne is the 6th book from her Monstrous series. If you have been loving her other books, I would highly recommend this one as we finally get to see Lilac fall in love with his monster, Seraph. Though they weren’t my favorite coupling, I LOVED how protective and loyal Lilac became over him. It was also lovely to see all the other characters gather together in one book as they also got to know each other. Beautiful book, can’t wait for the next one!

Wyn (Monstrous #3.5)Wyn by Lily Mayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was such a pleasure to be re-introduced to Wyn and Danny! I kind of missed them since I’ve first discovered them in the first Monstrous book by Lily Mayne. It was even better to find out that the narrative is in Wyn’s perspective and reading about his thoughts/ moods/ and views as he and Danny further tie themselves to each other in the name of love. Such a lovely read. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! Be aware, this series is NOT for anyone under 18 since there are many explicit scenes of ‘spice’ and not meant for the younger audience!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh Lily Mayne, why must you make me fall in love with each of your monsters? Seriously, I know I’ve said this in my other book reviews from this author how the last book had my favorite coupling, but I’m going to change it once again and now say Charlie and Moth might just be my favorite. I loved how awkwardly shy and guarded Moth was and how protective Charlie easily became over him from the beginning. It was incredibly sweet and almost made me tear up in some situations.

Home Coming Series by Elizabeth Noble

Home Coming (Pain and Pleasure #1)Home Coming by Elizabeth Noble
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you want something spicy, Home Coming, the first book of the Pain and Pleasure series by Elizabeth Noble is where you want to be. Hitting hard in the erotica and BDSM, this LGBT-friendly book is incredibly spicy adult fiction. This is definitely an 18+ book and should not be read by anyone younger due to the themes and word choices. That being said, this short but sweet erotica blew my mind! Since the story is short, it was nice that as readers we were already introduced to an already made couple of 5 years of marriage. There wasn’t any need for relationship growth since Ian and Taren were already a package deal.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Whelp, I really didn’t think this series was going to get any spicer (it’s already hard erotica), but then Elizabeth Noble just hit it up a notch with this one. Being the 4th book from this series, I’m still highly invested in Ian and Taren and their relationship, but when the author introduced Kevin…. well damn. This BDSM Dom/Sub relationship just became a threesome for Ian with two incredibly sexy powerful dom’s.

The Art of Domination (Pain and Pleasure #2)The Art of Domination by Elizabeth Noble
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Elizabeth Noble bless us with another short but equally spicy BDSM story featuring Ian and Taren. Once again we are hit with an incredibly hot interaction between the two, which is what first appealed to me. It’s lovely to read Elizabeth’s take on the BDSM scene and read how devoted these two characters are to their Dom/ Sub relationship. Once again, another really great read!

This series is 18+ so please only read it if you are above that age!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ugh, I really shouldn’t be so invested in a fictional character’s relationship as much as I am, but I really love how Ian and Taren interact with each other. Being the third book in the Pain and Pleasure short stories by Elizabeth Noble, we continue to read yet another spicy but sweet scene between the married couple. Elizabeth’s writing is sensual with the perfect amount of erotica to entice anyone interested in reading about BDSM or Dom/Sub relationships. You could easily tell how much they care and love the other with the amount of trust they put in their significant other through their Dom/Sub play. Truly a lovely short series to feast upon, but beware, this is a strickly an 18+ age story!

No Regrets (Pain and Pleasure #5)No Regrets by Elizabeth Noble
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Even though each book from this series is short and sweet, this series brought me through a whirl of emotions alongside Ian who was experiencing it all. With No Regret’s closing off the series by Elizabeth Noble, it was really nice seeing Ian and Taren come back together emotionally after introducing a third member in the last book. (It was a one-time situation but left them both feeling a bit off with new emotions and thoughts). It’s wonderful to see how devoted the two of them were to each other in their relationship throughout all the books and I thought this one closed off the series well. Another lovely spicy read!

Quarry Series by Elizabeth Noble

Quarry (The Vampire Guard, #2)Quarry by Elizabeth Noble
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Man, I actually think this might be my favourite novel out of this author’s works. There was the perfect amount of action, romance, sexy scenes, dangers, and of course tension to make each page addictive. The story is really well written and thorough, and I thought this was the perfect second book to the series. I highly suggest check this out if you’ve enjoyed her other work or are looking for something new and exciting.

Code Name Jack Rabbit (The Vampire Guard, #1)Code Name Jack Rabbit by Elizabeth Noble
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There is just something about Elizabeth Noble’s writing that’s addicting. Code Name Jack Rabbit is the first book of her new Vampire Guard series. I’ve had the pleasure of reading her Pain and Pleasure series and new that anything she wrote, I would equally love. Who doesn’t love werewolves, vampires, knives, Scotts and mystery all wrapped in an alluring, story? Blair is a sweetheart and filled with charm. It was so easy to fall in love with him.

For the Long Run Series by Elizabeth Noble

For the Long RunFor the Long Run by Elizabeth Noble
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’ve had the pleasure of reading Elizabeth Noble’s Pain and Pleasure and absolutely loved it. I was sad that this book didn’t hit the high expectations I had from the other series, but it was still quite enjoyable. I liked that this author attempted more of mystery and suspense themes in this book instead of just smut and BDSM, but I just felt like something was lacking somehow to make this 10/10 fantastic. I mean, I loved the characters, Jay and Eric, I enjoy her writing style, and liked the general storyline of this book. But there was just still something missing to make this one of my favorites. I would still recommend this book, considering how much. I enjoyed this book and the author.

Honey and Flame series by Gemma Snow

Honey and Flame (Masters of Mayfair, #3)Honey and Flame by Gemma Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have to say, I actually enjoyed this more than I originally thought I would. The story was rather bold and quite intriguing. I personally really enjoyed the whole high society and the idea of ‘erotic’ forbidden love mashed together. The characters were liveable and I found the heroine headstrong, yet didn’t know how to deal with her growing feelings.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wicked Villans Series by Katee Roberts

Desperate Measures (Wicked Villains, #1)Desperate Measures by Katee Robert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was…. WOW. Seriously, there’s a lot to unpack in this novel. To be honest, I went it with really high expectations because not only is this author all over social media, but so is her books. And well, I can clearly see the hype for this series! Desperate Measures, the first book of the Wicked Villains series is dark, sexy, alluring, dirty, and tempting all wrapped up in an Aladdin fairytale retelling. I don’t know what to say, what I read was really not what I was originally expecting, and yet came out incredibly better than I could have ever hoped. Jasmine and Jafar are a ‘thing’, more like a BDSM relationship, whereas, Aladdin (Ali) is the real villain of the story and a completely disgusting human being. I loved that I got to see sneak peeks of other characters (Hades and Meg), so it gave me something to look forward to in the next book. I know this description didn’t do this book justice, but honestly, if you love smut and spice WITH a story and heartfelt feelings, I highly suggest picking up this book for a try.

Cross the Line by Becca Steele

Cross the Line (Alstone High #1.5)Cross the Line by Becca Steele
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I really wished this short story was not only longer, but that there was more of a build-up/ chemistry between our main couple. There were times that the characters sounded the same in terms of speech, which made me loss sight of their supposed ‘chemistry’. Though I loved the trope enemies to lovers that the author started the novel off, it felt like there was zero build-up or attraction to when they were suddenly sucking face…. I did enjoy the more spicer scenes, which was kind of the only thing getting me to keep going in this otherwise confusing book.

Silk & Steel (Silk and Steel, #1)Silk & Steel by Ariana Nash
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ok, there is a lot happening within this book. Like a lot a lot. Please read the trigger warnings before reading because there are all sorts of sexual harassment, torching, blood, war, pain, and all sorts of other things to be aware of. If you enjoyed Game of Thrones, this might actually be the series for you. We get to read through enemies to lovers between a Dragon and Elf as war is breaking out. The author does a great job of digging deep into characters’ storylines without sounding like they are giving too much information. There’s plenty of drama, maybe borderline too much drama, and lots of angst.
